The brasil philodendron is known for the distinctive lime and gold patches that decorate its cute, heart-shaped leaves. Its new shoots will appear peach-toned at first, making this vibrant plant even more colourful. It’s rather special.
Despite coming from the sunnier climes of Central America and the Caribbean, philodendrons seem to enjoy living in UK households, which is great news for us plant fans. It’s a really rewarding plant and will grow quickly without too much effort. It’s also really easy to propagate, so you can share the colourful-leaf love among your friends.
This plant is easy going and will happily adapt to most conditions. It will tolerate shade but would prefer a room with brighter light. Give it a drink when the soil begins to feel dry, and mist it once or twice a week for an extra boost. It will appreciate a feed once a month during spring and summer.
Did you know?
Pedro’s vines will happily hang from a shelf or cabinet, but he’s a climbing plant at heart. In the wild, you’ll find heart-leaf philodendrons growing around the trunks of other trees. Pair it with a moss pole to see it in action.
